Growing in confidence rooted in the identity God has given us. We are expectant for freedom, clarity for the year ahead, and confidence to rise.
These are speaking notes for a retreat that are a part of a chapter in book that is on it's way and currently in the LDR. These bullet points are a part of a bigger conversation regarding identity. I invite you to join with your wisdom, ask curious questions, comment and contribute to the collective ongoing discussion.

for what God has not said
you are Responsible for."
Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [a]witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, [b]disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].
You can't arise into all that you are called to and run your race in the freedom that Jesus came to set captives free for, if you take on responsibilities that aren't yours to take on.
Imagine yourself spinning plates, juggling balls and herding cats all at the same time.
Now if it's true that you were made in the image of God, is that image of yourself spinning plates, juggling balls and herding cats, oh and lets add doing the Jean-Claude Van Damme straddle splits, does that image match the image of God that you were made to reflect here on earth as it is in heaven?
If we were to get your CA Real ID out, is that the image that would show up on your ID?
How well would you be able to run around the room, let alone run the race of your life-call and purpose while spinning plates, juggling balls, herding cats and stretched to the max in your nether places doing the splits?
How much fun do you think kid's would have going to park and playing on the playground if the adults in their lives let them do their favorite thing but required children to also simultaneously spin plates, juggle balls, herd cats, straddle splits and oh grow up while they're at all that other chaos and insanity?
The responsible thing to do is not be responsible for things you're not responsible for.
Freedom only works because God decided that the rules of engagement in life and in relationships would be free will choices. We learn how to handle and manage free will choices by the natural cause and effect consequences of both our good and bad choices. That is the respond ability God has given us. He gives us the innate ability to freely choose how we want to respond to everything and everyone in life. He gives us the responsibility to run our race, our life and our side of our relationships.
It's our responsibility to pick and choose what we want to do and who we want do it with in the only life and race we've been given to live and run. It's up to us how to conduct ourselves.
When others mistaken who we really are or try to obligate us to do things that don't feel right or safe it's up to us to make choices about how to respond to their choices.
My choice of how to respond to my superhero secrete identity as a mom:
Now I could apologize for the language, but let me ask you this, “How brutal is the banter dialogue inside your head?
How much and how often do you beat yourself up with negative disparaging self talk that doesn’t align with Who Daddy says you are to Him?
How much ping ponging, vacillating and wiggling do you do between pride and insecurity?

Humility may leave us vulnerable to humiliation, but if being humble is agreeing with God and God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud,…
And if God’s GRACE is His empowering presence to Do and Be ALL that He CREATED us to do and be,
Even if were not to let our left hand see what our right hand is doing.
If we choose to walk in Righteousness, Shalom and Joy in the Holy Spirit,
We can humbly and CONFIDENTLY Do and Be anything God says.
Daddy Said So!
If He says, “You are the scum of the earth.
Then you can humbly and confidently say, ‘I am the scum of the earth.”
If He says you are seated in heaven at the right hand of His throne with Him and that you are redeemed from the curse of the law of sin and death,
then you just are
and you can humbly and confidently walk in the stature and benefits of those proximities of His presence in your life, without shame, without dumbing down your position, without shrinking back from your authority and without apologizing.
If He trusts you, maybe you might possibly have the courage to be at peace with yourself and not intangle yourself with doubt.
This takes you out of the chaotic loop of Pride and Insecurity.

helps reinforce confidence about your free will choices.
Unlike how this generation is caught up in it's hypersensitive, easily offended, thin skinned
CANCEL CULTURE, Healthy Boundaries appropriated and instituted in healthy ways,
HONOR
PRoChoice FREEWILL.
You can have your cake and eat it too, but you cannot have FREEDOM without honoring and respecting other peoples' capacity and or their lack of capacity for things. The same is true for showing up for yourself the way you show up for the rest of the world... and for how you don't. Sometimes you actually have to REFUSE to do stuff that ain't your's to do.
This liberates your time, your energy and your relationships.

share some of my testimonies of putting up with the entanglements of False Identities and
the antidote of revelation that Holy Spirit is helping me walk out and live out running my race in my true authenticity…

Where my true identity has been mistaken and misunderstood by others and even myself at times:

Who do others say you are?
What functions and identity others try to put on you?

Who you really are and Who God says you are.

My brother in-law, Steve, not understanding why my sister wanted to talk with me first about getting their daughter's hair cut, “I didn’t know your sister ever did anything with herself.” after she explained to him that I was a licensed cosmetologist.

False Beleif that was a part of my false identity was that if I just explained myself; if we just talked through it, you'd understand me and we'd be ok.
After a reaming from sister in-law...another legal situation where our commercial real estate attorney said the same exact thing that I had said 3 days prior, to which provoked a lashing for me from by sister-in-law.
"Crying I flopped on the couch and saw the Lord with arms opened for me to run into and heard Him say to me, "Welcome to the Regiment of the Greatly Misunderstood."
Where i learned that like the mountains that a mustard seed of faith can move, a mustard seed of honor can accomplish releasing God's reward of honor. Not releasing honor towards someone else's free will choices can clog up a 4.5 million dollar PSA and hinder our prayers.
Out of the heart the mouth speaks
The power of life and death are in the tongue.
My Dad..wrote me a letter. It is written..Spoke over me several things that I mulled over to check myself. To humbly receive his feedback..counter his points and basically ended up landing on that's not who I am. you don't know me well enough to accuse me of being those things. He gave me his bronze star. He explained the action in war that awarded him the bronze star...his unit was retreating and he went back in enemy controled territory to reteive his friend, who ended up dying in his arms while being under friendly fire. My dad told me it wasn't safe for me to relationally address the things I countered in our letters back and forth to each other. I was brave to undergo freindly fire from him that wasn't so friendly. The thing about his bronze star is that it should have been a silver star, but because a superior officer didn't witness the the action live, it could only be bronze and not a silver star.
I say to you, there are false accusations that come from friendlies that are not so friendly, that hurt and cause real pain and trauma. Our courage under such fire, to RISE above false things about ourselves... is seen by our Superior Officer. And He is the Rewarder of our faith.
Spirit: Who we are is our spirit.

17 for the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking [what one likes], but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Who you are is the part of you that is your spirit…communing with HS all 7 of God’s Spirits IS 11
You’ve already been a child, so you’’re an expert at navigating child like faith. The difference is now you have your adult self to support your inner child and give your inner child aka your spirit freedom safety and permission.
Who does JOY better Children or Adults?

Jesus spent 3 years saying showing and doing who he was.
It pissed people off so bad they wanted to kill him and did.
Jesus spent 3 years preparing the soil of His disciples spirits and souls with the word seeds of His I am statements, so that when he asked Peter "Who do you say I am?" Jesus could harvest the courage and fortitude it would take for them to run their race in the power of cummunion and fellowship in His death and resurection. Who you say He is, who you choose to let Him be through and with you, is the testimony of the running of your race with your creator.

What was your favorite thing to play as a child?
What is fun for you?
What is not fun for you?
What breathes life into you?
What area do you want to gain more freedom in?
Breath Deep.
If the truth you know sets you free, what area of your inner thought life do you want to grow in a greater revelation of truth in?
When was the most recent time you delighted in something?
What does Joy feel like to you? What types of things fill you with joy?
If God’s word says He created you in HIs image...
If His word says that if you Delight yourself in the Lord he’ll grant you the desires of your heart...
If DeSire means “of the Sire...”
Can that reasonably be rationalized as to mean that when we delight ourselves in the Lord, our desires align with His desires and this unity with Him empowers us with the power of agreement and activates the granting part of God’s granting grace?
What does Delight look like?
What does Joy look like?
Who does Delight and Joy better Children or adults?
If the gifts of the Lord are irrevocable...
If God’s burden is light and His Yolk is easy....
If the Joy of the Lord is your strength....
If a three fold cord is uneasily broken...

Colossians 1:27 is a powerful verse: “God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.
